    Description

FAG Outer Tie Rod End (Track Rod End)

Genuine FAG outer tie rod end designed to restore precise steering control and correct toe alignment. Manufactured to OE specifications for fit, load capacity and durability, it connects the inner tie rod to the steering knuckle and allows smooth articulation while maintaining accurate wheel geometry.

    Also Known As

Track rod end, steering rod end, outer drag link end.

    What’s Included

Please check the product photos for the exact contents supplied with this item. If you are unsure, contact us with your VIN/registration and we will confirm what is included for your vehicle.

Note: Hardware (e.g., new locknut/split pin) is supplied only if shown or explicitly stated.

    Key Features

    • OE-matched taper, thread and length for direct fit
    • High-strength ball pin and precision bearing surface for long service life
    • Sealed, maintenance-free joint with robust dust boot to keep contaminants out
    • Corrosion-resistant housing and stud finish
    • Engineered by FAG (Schaeffler), trusted OE supplier

    Check Before You Buy

    • Vehicle position: left or right side (many are side-specific)
    • Thread direction on the rod end: left-hand or right-hand thread to match the inner tie rod
    • Stud taper/seat and shank length: must match the steering knuckle
    • Overall body/rod length: match to avoid large toe changes
    • Verify by VIN/registration and FAG/OE part numbers for guaranteed fit

    When to Replace

    • Steering play, knock/clunk over bumps or vague on-centre feel
    • Feathered or uneven tyre wear (toe out/in)
    • Torn/detached dust boot, corrosion or grease leakage
    • MOT/inspection advisory or fail for joint wear or excessive movement

    Installation Summary

    • Measure toe or count turns to preserve approximate length before removal
    • Loosen jam nut on the inner tie rod, remove split pin/castle or nyloc nut and separate joint with the correct tool
    • Thread new end onto inner rod (matching thread direction); set to original length as a starting point
    • Torque the stud nut and jam nut to manufacturer specifications; fit new split pin where applicable
    • Complete a wheel alignment (toe adjustment) after installation

    Good Practice

    • Replace in axle pairs for balanced steering response
    • Inspect inner tie rods, rack boots and ball joints at the same time
    • Use new self-locking hardware where specified

Warranty: FAG steering components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty when supplied via authorised distributors. Correct fitment and alignment are required for warranty validity.

    FAQ

You can enter your Vehicle Registration Number on our homepage or manually select your vehicle details. We will then filter the parts that match your vehicle. Always double-check the Product Properties section to confirm correct fitment.

Yes! We’re constantly expanding our product range and catalog. If you can’t find the part you’re looking for, please contact us. We work with several manufacturers and may be able to source the part for you.

Many product pages include a Fitment Details tab with additional information. If you still have questions, feel free to use our message service — we’re happy to help.

Parts do not come with additional items like fitting kits or gaskets unless it is clearly specified in the Part Details section of the product page.

Brake Discs: Most standard brake discs are priced individually, but for safety reasons, they must be purchased in pairs. When required, we will automatically set the quantity to 2 in your basket.
Brake Pads: These are sold as a set (either front or rear), so one box is enough for two discs.

The Compatibility Table can be found on each product page, usually below the main product description. Look for a tab or heading labeled Compatibility.
