    Description

MEYLE Ball Joint – Suspension Pivot Joint

A MEYLE ball joint connects your vehicle’s control arm to the steering knuckle, allowing precise pivoting as the suspension moves. Over time, these joints wear out, causing noise, loose steering, uneven tyre wear, and poor handling. MEYLE offers both Standard and HD (Heavy Duty) versions for maximum durability and driving comfort.

Standard vs MEYLE /HD Ball Joints

MEYLE Standard ball joints match original manufacturer specifications for OE-quality fit and performance.
MEYLE /HD (Heavy Duty) ball joints are reinforced with upgraded materials, larger housings, and longer service life. Ideal for rough roads, heavier loads, or demanding use.

Note: MEYLE HD ball joints are clearly marked with /HD in the part number. If there is no /HD, it is the Standard version.

    What’s Included

You will receive: 1x MEYLE Ball Joint (Standard or HD – see title/part number).
Please refer to the product image for exact kit contents. Some variants include nuts, bolts, or grease fittings depending on vehicle application.

When and Why to Replace a Ball Joint

Ball joints wear over time due to road impacts, turning stress, and contamination. Warning signs include clunking noises, wandering steering, uneven tyre wear, or poor alignment. Left ignored, a worn ball joint can eventually separate — a serious safety risk. MEYLE replacements restore precise steering and safe suspension movement.

How to Fit a Ball Joint – Step by Step

    1. Secure the vehicle on level ground with axle stands and remove the wheel.
    2. Unbolt and remove the lower control arm from the hub or knuckle (if required).
    3. Use a ball joint separator tool or press to remove the worn joint from the arm or knuckle.
    4. Clean the mounting area thoroughly – remove rust and debris for a flush fit.
    5. Install the new MEYLE ball joint using the correct orientation and any supplied hardware.
    6. Torque all bolts and fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
    7. Refit control arm and other suspension components as removed.
    8. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten wheel nuts.
    9. After fitting, get a full wheel alignment to restore correct geometry and tyre wear.

Professional fitting is recommended. Always inspect both sides – if one ball joint has failed, the other may be close behind.

    FAQ

You can enter your Vehicle Registration Number on our homepage or manually select your vehicle details. We will then filter the parts that match your vehicle. Always double-check the Product Properties section to confirm correct fitment.

Yes! We’re constantly expanding our product range and catalog. If you can’t find the part you’re looking for, please contact us. We work with several manufacturers and may be able to source the part for you.

Many product pages include a Fitment Details tab with additional information. If you still have questions, feel free to use our message service — we’re happy to help.

Parts do not come with additional items like fitting kits or gaskets unless it is clearly specified in the Part Details section of the product page.

Brake Discs: Most standard brake discs are priced individually, but for safety reasons, they must be purchased in pairs. When required, we will automatically set the quantity to 2 in your basket.

The Compatibility Table can be found on each product page, usually below the main product description. Look for a tab or heading labeled Compatibility.
